Reducing Crop Loss through Improved Post-Harvest Management

Reducing Crop Loss through Improved Post-Harvest Management

In this webinar hosted by DLEC, Kevin Kelsey, Senior Manager, IDinsight, Lusaka, Zambia shares insightful results from IDinsight’s evaluation of an intervention targetted at improving post-harvest handling and storage (PHHS) extension services in Zambia’s Southern and Central Provinces.
The intervention aimed to train 40,000 farmers on post-harvest best practices (drying, storing) through a “lead farmer-to-farmer” model. If adopted, the PHHS practices were expected to reduce post-harvest crop losses and improve crop quality, leading to increased farmer income.
