CROPWAT 8.0 is a decision support tool developed by FAO for the calculation of crop water requirements and irrigation requirements (by using parameters like crop evapotranspiration and reference evapotranspiration) based on soil, climate, and crop data. While CLIMWAT 2.0 allows the calculation of crop water requirements, irrigation supply, and irrigation scheduling for various crops for a range of climatological stations worldwide.
In addition, the program allows the development of irrigation schedules for different management conditions and the calculation of scheme water supply for varying crop patterns. CROPWAT 8.0 and CLIMWAT 2.0 can also be used to estimate crop water requirements and irrigation requirements for single crop irrigation and multiple crops in the same scheme.
