~Review~ SongYi/Kedsum 880GPH Submersible Pump for Hydroponics, Pond, Laser Engraver, Aquarium

This is a pretty powerful pump!
I tested it along side an EcoPump 396GPH pump I have been using to cool a laser for about a year now. The power of this Sonyi is way more than twice what the EcoPump can do. Even though the cord seems a little light gauge and it doesn’t include a filter sponge, for the price it is a great deal.

Test Setup:
Test #1: Shooting straight up through 7″ of water
~Result: About 9″ of lift over water level
Test #2: Shooting straight up through no water
~Result: About a 4Ft column of water
Test #3: Water lift through a 3/4″ hose
~Result: Achieved about 14Ft of direct lift straight up (Self priming through 50ft of garden hose)

Conclusion:
To get that kind of lift out of an impeller pump is quite impressive. This would be a decent pump for moderate sized hydroponic setups or large 55+ Gallon aquariums. If you want to use it where debris might get sucked in, definitely invest in a filter sponge to go in the front.
