Today we learn a bit about Green Frogs, Rana lithobates, and talk about if they are a danger or a help to our outdoor patio ponds and water gardens.

I took the opportunity to film a frequent visitor to my bins- The Green Frog, and share with you a bit of information about them. What sort of potential predators do you see in your water gardens?

Curious about the effects of the tadpoles on the pond?
I really enjoyed your video on the Green Frog. I’ve loved frogs my whole life, and I’m so glad to see that you appreciate them as well. And yes, I would love to see more videos like this. All the best!
My mom has a pond outside in Tennessee and she's specifically making it a frog pond and this frog is one she always sends me pics of. I was curious if u possibly knew any fish she could add into it that won't decimate her taddys as she calls them but will help with mosquitoe larvae and excess algae growth
I know this was an older video but hope you see this question. My summer tubs are up and now at least 2 have filled with tadpoles. I’d hate to have them hurt my fry or shrimp production should I move them to my koi pond or can they live together??? Thank you in advance

I have two frogs in my tiny pond. I want to clean the leaves out of it, but I don't want to harm the eggs or any tadpoles. When is a safe time to do this?
He sooooooo cute
I placed Green Frogs in an aviary pond I had once as this species is really nice. Be careful with them, they can eat birds the size of Zebra Finches!
Worst patio pond predator I can think of here in Florida is the Cuban Tree Frog. They eat just about anything and everything and are highly invasive…..
We get little green tree frogs in our area. If my husband doesn’t keep the pool liner drained in spring we will end up with countless tadpoles. It happened once lesson learned! I want to build my first tub pond thanks to you and I hope they visit 🐌🐸 I won’t do fish since we have Illinois winters here
OMGOODNESS! Teach me more! I had a whiskey barrel set up. A little frog moved in. I believe that to be a good sign! Balance between the species and all. I LOVE YOUR VIDEOS! 🐳💖🐳
Nice video! Would love to see all the herps in your area, maybe even what pollinating insects your get (butterflies etc…).
Yea Rana in America is now Lithobates as Rana is a genus now exclusive to European frogs.
What zone are you in? All of your plants are flourishing
species spotlight: frog!
4:16 What is that swimming just under the surface right near the frog (left side of frog, between its legs, nearest the camera)?
2:36 * sex
this is amazing, where do you live? how is the climate there? i live in chile, winter temperatures are near 0 – 10 °C summer 25 – 31°C
There are so many dreams and ponds just in my neighborhood but that doesn't stop me from wanting to create a frog Oasis/summer tub 😁
i would love a "garden friend or foe?" series.
so cute
Sometimes, I really miss living in the NE.. I've been in SWFL for 12 years now and I've learned to love our local flora and fauna but miss things like frogs and being able to sit on the ground without being at risk of death by fire ants. I love that your videos are about more than just fishkeeping and I learn so much from them. Please continue with your marvelous content💚
sqweee love frogs ,,,i keep pet frogs and love to see the wild ones visit,, lucky you
A frog in reeds is a friend indeed.
It would be great to see more videos like this
good idea! and a very cute frog.
Really enjoyed this. We lhave a seasonal pond and love the frogs we get at our place.
