In the third and final part of this lecture from the Noble Foundation’s Hoop House Symposium, Steve Upson shows how to select and prepare a site for a hoop house (high tunnel) and goes through the steps involved in assembling the structure. Based on his extensive experience building and using hoop houses, Upson recommends construction techniques and best practices that work in the real world.

Steve Upson is a Noble Foundation soils and crops consultant specializing in horticulture. He has conducted numerous Noble Foundation research and demonstration projects using hoop houses since the mid-1990s. This Hoop House Symposium took place in Ardmore, Okla. on Oct. 23, 2013.
