Aphid Control – Simple Organic Pesticide Recipe – Seed Saving – Geothermal Greenhouse April Update

Aphid Control - Simple Organic Pesticide Recipe - Seed Saving - Geothermal Greenhouse April Update

Thrifty organic gardeners know that at their most basic, insecticidal pest sprays take no more than two ingredients — liquid soap and water. Some garden spray recipes call for using any type of non-detergent liquid soap, such as dish soap. But if you’re concerned with the purity or the scent of their spray, you might turn to the Dr. Bronner’s brand. Use Dr. Bronner’s garden spray about once a week, as well as after rainfall. For bad infestations, apply the spray every three days. One tbs (Dr.Bronners) per gallon (water) is a good mix. Add Neem oil if it’s available.

Leah and I are two humans who no longer support the inhuman, oligarchic empire model destroying our planet and our true nature as human beings. As activists we decided to do something about it, so we opted out of our former lives to begin anew. We are currently transforming pristine alpine wilderness into a self-sustaining homestead and organic farm in preparation for the upcoming collapse. We plan on developing and executing every single step of the process in open source format for the benefit of all humanity. With our backgrounds in academia and the sciences (climatology, geology, physics, biology, chemistry, and more) we hope to uncover the lies perpetrated by the mass media. It will be presented here and on our website in a systematic and thorough process. As you can imagine, this is a multifaceted, lifelong project, and we are so passionately excited to take the next steps towards self sufficiency and our dream! 1. I just sprayed around a thousand earwigs that were destroying my mullein plant with a similar spray, a little neem oil and a drop of dish soap in water and and they died in about 15 minutes. thank goodness.

  2. Soon time to plant PawPaws. Plant in shade, keep watered. Seeds two inches deep in a pot 10 to 12 inches high. Tap root goes down first. Can take two months for tree to push through the soil. Seed will be on the top with green leaves growing .

  3. you shouldn't bother with making your own spray, my good friends over at Monsanto will have a product that would do a much faster job at knocking off those aphids, it will probably kill the plants but hey, you can always buy more in the supermarkets

  4. I just sprayed hydrogen peroxide 3%, a regular first aid antiseptic on an earwig and it looked paralyzed and then it was easy to send it to its maker. Aphids are tough and soapy solutions never worked when I was trying to get rid of them. I plan on trying hydrogen peroxide on every nasty bug. Peace in Christ Amen

  5. I hose those bastards off lol. Next time plant calendula or marigolds under the arugula or any plant you have aphids issues with.

I’m super excited I just got a Syrian joy, Sicilian red, and vasilika sika fig from a friend for Easter! Woohoo! My (black turkey I think, I grew it from a neighbors tree as a cutting lol) has figlettes already.

We just put in 2 more 4×10 beds 10 inches deep with 2 cattle panel trellis, and will try some square foot gardening in there (first time). Super exciting time, I love spring! 😂

  6. Yum! Hard to do in a vertical situation but Im on it! Cuckes, zucchini, tomatoes, peppers, oregano, chives, leeks, basil, potatoes and rainbow chard on a 2×4 balcony 🤗 its possible!

  7. G'day diamond. When you say a cap full. Would that work out to about 20mls per 1000mls? Also how much Neem do you add per spray bottle ? I Just don't want to over do it…. Thanks

  8. Cool, I have arugula blooming in my yard. Stray seeds from last fall. I have pak choy leftover seeds that was in the garden and has already went to seed. Growing since February, but it never put on very significant leaves due to the cold.

  9. I open up the boxes and let high speed wind and sun blast the aphids. Then I use soap water to wash off the bugs, etc. Yep, soap sprays exactly like you use, it works. Just harvested two boxes and now switching too. Harvested oregano, drying it. Three new holes for squash, onion, weed, all together. Composted chicken litter, our chickens, and other compost. Yep, great food.
Thanks for your work! Fresh food, some folks have no idea. Get gardening!

  10. Great to see your crops coming into maturity. I'd be interested on a follow up with the pesticide, to see how it works. You might want to get a praying mantis cocoon or two and let them hatch. Aphids are just the beginning.

  11. I have a 20' X 40' greenhouse where I grow every year vegetables . My neighbors and my community say I have the best tomatoes and peppers around.
