Continuing the Greenhouse Build | Designing the Frame and Insulating

Now that we have the insulated foundation in it’s time for the real fun to start! Choosing a design for the frame should be done before a foundation in installed. Some designs will be cheaper to build, some very expensive. Some will be energy efficient and others will not be. Here are some of the pros and cons of each. We also talk about insulating the greenhouse and why it’s important to do. This is one of the tricks to achieving a 4 season greenhouse that will require minimal (if any) heating, even in colder climates.

  1. In England we call your “shed roof” or “lean to” a “pent roof” – a lean To is also valid here but a double pitch gable is what we call a “shed roof”. I am really enjoying your videos. Do you call a lean to or attached greenhouse a “conservatory” like we do? Xx
