I am growing year round at Olds, Alberta, Canada. Our latitude is 52deg and elevation is 1000m. The passive solar greenhouse does a great job in extending the growing season in such a challenging place. No artifical heat source is used. The only heat source is sunlight. Passive solar greenhouses are very cost effective and environmentally friendly solutions to vegetable growing. Video taken on Dec 28th, 2020

This is amazing! How did the green house hold up in the recent cold snap where we had -40 C weather?
Why so many tomatoes? Are you selling all of these? You and your family aren't eating all of those tomatoes right?
one day ill understand meters and Celsius, for now ill google it
Smart
👏 🙏👍. You are a hardworking person. You can also get Geo thermal heat to help. Also add a fireplace using leftover wood. ❤️ from 🇺🇸.
Have you tried taking cuttings of your existing vines to get a head start on the next spring. Tomatoes root so well. I do that every year to increase my plants
27° Canadian is 81° in freedom units.
Can I visit your greenhouse?
Love the video,do you think this would work on a smaller scale? Say 1 square foot, almost like a portable green house?
Hey Dong,
Im in Edmonton and want to build a small hobby greenhouse like that. I am just curious what type of poly film you used and where you bought it from?
this is what true security looks like in motion – great video
How do you get it warm in the first place, with minus 40?? Please explain!
Very inspiring! Thanks
Very Nice. Goats could help eat and pull everything that is done and needs to be removed.
Great work. Thanks for sharing.
Wow! I live in Québec's Eastern Township and I can't plant in the garden before June because of late frost, plus the soil is clay and rocks… I had given up on gardening but this is a game changer! Thanks for sharing! New suscriber!

We have designed and are building a smaller earth beamed passive solar greenhouse in St. John’s Newfoundland as a demonstration and research structure. For details, please visit our greenhouse page at http://www.foodproducersforum.com. Great work, very possible, for healthy local food.
thumbs up for the amazing greenhouse and using metric units
try also digging 4 ft. down to make your growing beds warmer. may save on abovegrown materials.
Im just getting started so this was super informative! Thanks!
Wow! My family visited here in the summer and I picked tomatoes from the very same greenhouse. You probably don't remember me since I don't speak much Chinese and my parents did most of the talking. Never knew this place served such a function in the Winter!
This has taken a lot of time, thought and planning to make a garden year round in Canada. Very impressive.
Wow, talk about tough gardening!
Way cool
This is crazy good work!
Nova Chemical Plant in Joffre: used waste heat to heat commercial greenhouses… and failed to make it work.
