Have you consider putting plastic coke bottles in the trench with the french drains. Doesn't water hold heat better than soil?

Where are you located mate? I'm in Northern California in the high desert! We bought forty acres with a year around creek; however our water table is shallow, depending on the time of year it ranges from two to three feet never dropping lower than 12 feet so we hand drilled water wells out here with an auger and steel piping cut in 3 foot sections that we threaded using couplings to attach sections of pipe to dig deeper and deeper down! We have a greenhouse 25 feet by 80 feet with a wood stove to keep it heated in the colder months. We also had a huge fish pond we dug out and stocked it with catfish and bass! We have lots of livestock, horses, sheep, goats, pigs, chickens, ducks and turkeys, we have two tractors and seed for planting live stock feed and vegetables and grains fruit trees berry bushes ECT! We have two livestock barns and 3 forty foot shipping containers to build an underground bunker which should help to maintain heat easier for the upcoming ice age, we have solar systems and wind turbines for power but looking to find an alternative power source as I'm not expecting much sun in this ice age! Thinking of tesla technology and tapping into free energy! You said in this video that we can come join you which I put the same offer out to many; however no one wants to invest time or money for future survival, I'm wondering if you get any takers? It surprises the hell out of me, we all know what's coming but it seems that no one can wrap their head around the severity of the near future! I intend on planting every square inch of our property this year that isn't being used for out buildings ECT! The reason I ask where you are located is if you are close enough to our place maybe we can put our resources together into building up two places incase one of us get wiped out, at the very least we can exchange ideas!

Hey Diamond, can the pretty bottle work for now and get that sucker done and producing food. You can always go back and do the pretty stuff later. Doing the floor heat is time consuming enough. I skipped that and I am glad we did since we have been enjoying trout and organic fresh veggies for 8 years now and if we had done all the "extras" as I like to call them, we might never have finished our very productive GH. Even the ground pipes can be done later between the rows. I will do just that when the important work around the homestead is caught up. Just my 2 cents worth. Remember that water is more than twice the BTU storage of your ground soil so plan on a good size (2500g in our case) AP system and your storage problems are solved in one get go. I can't believe you still have no ground snow out there. Where were you when we were picking our retirement home here in the Sunny snowy South, LOL? I must say though we do love our 100+ foot tall trees here. Not sure we could live without them and they keep us so toasty in the Winter. Our home built wood boiler with the IBC 330g storage is working great through these bitter days btw. Went 12 hours in the house with no fire last night just using the stored heat running to radiators. Have it cranking now tho. Best.

Don't you have a bottle refund? There are no bottles to be had here. Most are plastic now and have a .10 refund when you take them in. Same with the aluminum cans. I scavange what I can for all my projects. Pallets are great for building and burning and are available everywhere.
Hey, I use to work for a company that made above ground fuel storage tanks. They were double walled with a cement and perlite mixture in between for Fire protection. It's an incredable insolator that you might find a lot of uses for and it's cheep.

+Oppenheimer Ranch Project , hey Diamond, for those without a tile saw, check out "How To Cut Glass Bottles With String and acetone" or "First attempt at cutting glass with string and acetone" – most alcohols should work.
Basically burn the string around the bottle creating a high temperature ring, then dip it in cold water.
