Is it possible to make an passive hydroponic system without electricity ? If not, does the pump consume a lot of electricity and does it make noise ? Thanks !
Omg one salad per week for less that $100?! Pretty shitty ROI.
Very awesome!
Weather round things that you using to plant your plants in it kind of looks like weather round things that you using to plant your plants in it kind of looks like acorns
Love your energy on camera. New to window farming and this is the best I have found so far
Does the pump need to be running 24*7? Or how often does it need to run ?
Hi there, great video! I'd be interested to know what water pump are you using?
How big are your net cups?
INCREDIBLE
Can’t wait to start my pandemic garden!
2:28 xddd
this is great. how many times a day and for how long do the plants need to be irrigated?
cool video.
Shouldn't he have painted the outside of the bottles?I though the roots didn't like see tru containers as it leads to algae growth
Why didn't you just use a rain chain, a barrel, water pump tubing?
Can you make a list of the things needed? I don't hear well, and I couldn't understand several of the items you named. The CC didn't help either because I'm never sure if they are accurate…
How many ideas do you irrigate for? How many times a day? Slight difference , im using a air pump to bring up the water, should be using less power
that way.
can I borrow your sword?!
I have been using this video all week for the research portion of how me and all 125 of my 5th graders are going to build a hydroponic window garden for our STEAM class! They are very entertained and I appreciate how helpful and detailed you are as this will be our first time building one! Thanks for keeping it clean so I can show it in school! You are awesome!
Any updates on how this system is working? What size were the plant/potting media holders?
This was just what I was looking for! How often do you have your pump run?
Don't it washes out the nutrients from dripping pot?
What is the cofiguration of the pump. How frequently and how much water do you supply to the plant? I indie top is same as yours about 7 feet high. My media is coco fibre.
GREAT WORK..!
Such a great idea. Thank you!
It’s a good idea but a little messy
2:28 ha ha! Try spraying the bottles white to prevent algae.
Love this!
Great job would love to hear more of you
I'm looking for a budget-solution. I am quite handy, but need something i can replace the pump with.
I've thought about hand-watering several times throughout the day, and started mixing the soil with diaper-filling, but perhaps you can save me some time, with a good life-hack?
is there any problems with algae???
How strong is your pump?
Hi guys,
I had in mind to do again the windowfarm community, still open source with sharing the knowledge to everybody, evolution and so. I am looking for motivated people who wants to join us in this adventure. Living in an urban zone, i wanted to grow my own vegetable but i didnt have garden. I looked for other solution and this is how i have found about this project. It is been 1 year now i am studying this and i improve plans and technics. We want to make it evolve with aquapony, electricity autonomous, integrate a probe, put an arduino, etc. We want to make it accessible people as much as possible and to use it also for education purpose.
If you like the projet, don't hesitate to contact me. We are building a team and we need all skills possible : Electrician, graphist designers, aquaponist, developpers, gardeners, etc.
Knowledge is essential, give something and share it 🙂
Thank you for the step by step instructions! Going to do this!
1k
love this!! Thank you!!
couldn't you just hang plants in regular pots and water them?
OMG this is great! and you are charming lol
this would be good for the Zombie Apocalypse
how much electricity does it consume as it requires constant irrigation ? and is it plain water or nutrient water
how do you control mold?
Thanks for the great video. The link to everything you need is not working. Can you please provide the list needed to build this system. Thanks
did you harvest anything..
Thanks so much for the video. I will absolutely try this out and send you the results. I'm wondering if you can tell me what medium you put your plants in, I can see the clay pellets but what about soil? I also see some comments about the roots being exposed to light. Have you had any issues with this? How is your garden doing today?
very nice, I love it 💞💞💞💞❤❤❤
hey my window is 50 inches top to bottom and 30 inches to the floor total 80 inches so what size of pump should i use? thanks I will wait for your reply
how about algee that might grow in the pabbles? Don't upi need to darken the bottles?
