I did a review of @clickandgrow, a self-watering smart garden system and I have to say it’s pretty amazing. And very simple. The system came with basil plant pods. All you need to do is:
➡️insert the pods
➡️put back the U-shaped lid and the germination dome. The purpose of the dome is to keep the humidity high, which is needed for the seeds to sprout
➡️add water
➡️plug into electricity
➡️start cutting herbs for cooking 😊
The seeds started growing after only a few days. For most plants it will be after a week or two. The wick system will absorb water from the tank automatically. The lights are on for 16 hours, off for 8 hours, all automated, nothing for you to do. Except refill the reservoir with water after a few weeks, when the water mark on the left side goes down. And cut some fresh herbs for cooking 😋

For such small lights, the Click and Grow system is pretty strong. At the distance of 2 inches (5 cm) it gives 53,000 lux of light. At 1 foot away (30cm) it gives 4,500 lux.
Due to the strength of the lights, you could also use the system to grow many other plants. Click and Grow has many plant pods available -basil, coriander, chives, lavender, cherry tomatoes, mini peppers…You can even buy pods with no seeds and grow whatever seeds you like.
Let me know if you have any questions or ideas what I could grow next, after I eat all the basil 😊
