This is a proof of concept. It shows that you can use an air pump to run an ebb and flow hydroponic or aquaponic system. Perhaps this makes it cheaper and less technically complex to do ebb and flow systems.

You say you can save energy with this way of working, but i don't really agree. You will still need a pump to pump the water from the fish tank to the grow beds. If you use this energy, no additional pump is needed. Also, in intense systems, extra air is needed in the water, so an air pump is not a bad option. It could be an idea to combine the system with air supply: in stead of releasing the air in … the air, you could drain the air bag in the water. Nice idea anyway and worth trying 🙂
