In my prior RV, the lock got buggered after a time. It wallowed out quite a bit and to the point where I couldn’t open it without great difficulty. It’s also known that many RV manufacturers use standard door and compartment locks that could share the same key. In other words, my old key might open my neighbor’s RV! Not a good security if a thief had a base of keys and decided to troll the campgrounds. Likely won’t happen, but when I’m in bed at night on the road, I’d like some peace of mind there. My answer to these problems, remain safe, and easy access on rainy/dark days, was to install this lock from a company called “RVLock” @ https://www.rvlock.com/. No more worrying if another key will let someone in. No more scratching the handle late at night trying to find the keyhole. No more fumbling if I’m carrying groceries inside. I’m glad I took the plunge. It works amazingly well, and even after 2 years of use, I can say that we honestly love this lock. I do not get a kickback from the company. It’s just a great product.

Am I correct to assume that the the motor in the lock is only locking the dead bolt and not the latch lock as well?
Make sure you have access to the keys, just in case. One good place to keep them is in one of the basement storage units, then carry the basement key on your key ring with the fob and the ignition key.
[Leaving the ignition key inside your RV when you leave is a REALLY bad idea.]
That would be cool if it didnt have the regular keys. Now you have a fancy door handle that everyone has a key to. LOL

I love how you're worried about people seeing the reprogrammable code but you put the code to cut a new key up for everybody to see.
I think those batteries and the missing adhesive means this was probably a returned door lock…
I need to buy one of these for the RV that I hopefully will have in about 10 years! 🙂

Fantastic! However, I would not trust those batteries. Replace with the ones they say to use, they may be old anyway. That is one fantastic setup! great job!
PS write down that key number somewhere.
Throw away the key. Enter a code. No more where is the keys. Its still scary.
