How would you like to know the easiest way to grow leafy greens in the heat of the Summer?
More fun things to do with pool noddles while learning hydroponics!! I use them in place of costly cloning collars. Today we are growing sweet potatoes, not for the sweet potato itself but for the leaves which are edible and delicious.

You can also dehydrate the leaves, grind them into powder, and add a scoop to smoothies, homemade ice cream, or even in soups or stews. It will really pump up the vitamin and mineral content of what ever you put it in!
This channel is awesome! Thank you so much for the inspiration to try growing my own! Thank you thank you thank you
I am so excited to try this next year. I had no idea you could eat sweet potato leaves. Fantastic!
Great video I just moved here from the midwest and I have my portable raised garden beds. I call myself the YouTube Gardener because I am learning this way. I love to be able to connect with questions I have about pests, saving plants, weather conditions etc just adivce on gardening property. Again I luv the video and looking forward to trying some parts of my gardening this way 👏👏👏
😀 좋아요!
As an alternative to pool noodles would it be possible to use something like kitchen sponges?
A pool noodle cost $9-10 in my country
What does NFT system stand for?
Awesome~Do you also grow indoors by grow light?
Nothing to do with sweet potatoes have your tried growing any brassicas this way
Hey, Mike. I really like your videos. I'm super new to growing my own food. I'm curious about something. Your hydro method works well, so why are so many hydro systems set up with pipes, tubes, and electric pumps that need regular attention? Why doesn't everybody just use your method where they don't have to mess with anything for at least a month?
Thanks man. I'll give me shot in the Texas heat and see how they do.
I have never ate any of the leaves. Love how you got the vines going and growing! Stay safe and have a great weekend!
Thanks, Mike, we'll have to try using sweet potato leaves. Hugs ~Cheryl
Looks like that is going to give a lot of greens for you. Thanks for sharing!
I was hoping for more of an instructional video on how to grow sweet potatoes. I feel I am getting more of a tour of the backyard.
I watch and learn Mother Nature will explain it all… good information ℹ️ thanks for sharing Mike 👍🏼
My sweet potatoe vines were taking over my yard lol. The vines were enormous. I cut them.. I put them in the compost pile and now they're growing there lol.
I do eat them but I'm the only one in the house that does so there was just way too much for me and they grow so fast. I thought they would make good compost. Little did I know haha.
Love sweet potatoes. Eat them nearly every day. My mother always grew the vines in a jar at the kitchen window because they are so pretty. Had no idea you could eat the leaves. What is your favorite way to prepare them?
Question: Are you growing the leaves just in water or, when you put them in the outdoor containers are you using your hydroponic solution?
I put my sweet potato slips in a jar of water in the kitchen window. When they get too tall I cut them and put the cuttings in the same jar. I just keep adding jars. ';D
Hmmm…didn’t know you can eat the leaves. Will have to try.
YAY–Made My Day!!!
