Hydroponic Nutrients : Masterblend vs GH Maxigrow

I pit the two against each other with the GH Maxigrow having a two week head start. This is only my first time using the GH Maxigrow, I have been using Masterblend for about 5 years. What i can use in New Zealand equivalent to Masterblend ?

I guess the thing many people have an issue with is that Calcium Nitrate…is made by adding nitric acid to lime stone?.
I always use Masterblend, I always recommend it. I too tried GeneralHydro..and had poor results.. so….
Calcium Nitrate, also called (Norwegian saltpeter), was the first synthetic nitrogen fertilizer compound to be manufactured. Production began at Notodden, Norway in 1905. Most of the world's calcium nitrate is now made in Porsgrunn, Norway. Calcium Nitrate is obtained by treating limestone with weak nitric acid.
Good test but please tell what dosis did you use of the GH MaxiGro?
Got mine in the mail today. Now need the other stuff which is on the way and will be hitting dollar store tomorrow to get seeds started.

Thanks for sharing your ideas, projects and experiments! Yesterday I bought my gutter and hole drill bit so I'm ready to take the plunge and try growing like you do, only indoors under grow lights. I've not yet ordered bok choi seeds (I've never even eaten it) but I'm starting with what I have: Swiss Chard and kale seeds. Right now they're germinating in clay pebbles on a heat mat…..wish me luck!
