Johnny's Selected Seed & The Common Ground Fair (Maine)

Gina and I headed on an RV trip that included visiting family in Michigan, Niagara Falls, New England, and Canada. Most of the trip will be documented in our RV Traveling Adventures page, https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCokJwInSPvjngMOaNDtRyBg. I’d love for you to follow us there and subscribe. This video has pertinent gardening stuff so I posted it here. We had a great time on the trip.

MY STORE ON AMAZON. Everything I use for gardening, I try to put in my store including all my microgreen and hydroponic stuff. So, when I talk about anything that interests you and you think, “Hummm, where can I get that?” Well, it’s all right here, you pay nothing extra for using it, and it’s always updated! Please check out my store here: https://amzn.to/2vG5Pww

As an Amazon affiliate, if you click on one of the product links or my amazon storefront, I do receive a small commission. The best thing about it is that it doesn’t add a penny to your purchase price! Thank you for the support!

MY BOOK ON MICROGREENS. If you want to know how to grow microgreens like I do, I wrote a book on it, “Microgreens – Intense Hydroponic Grows” aka The IHG Method:

Color Paperback Version – https://amzn.to/2NcmaRJ
Kindle Version – Either link with paperbacks above.

  1. Thanks for the information you share, I am confused a bit with the info you gave on August 17 th 2016 that preferably use the method of F2W then instead you were using in your greenhouse and explaining circulating method video serviced on December the 1 st 2018. Which you gave reasonable trade offs for the F2W system. Why are you personally still using “circulating system”. Would you pls give some notes? Thanks in advance.

  2. thanks for sharing the experience, it looks like fun. I visited Johnny's in January one year and was disappointed that there was no store.
Maine is considered the flat lands compared to the other three states
    best

  3. Hi, I am from Maine and still live there. Glad you visited. Too bad you didn't get to tour Johnny's. I haven't been to the Common Ground Fair in years. I like that it's a more 'traditional' fair. No midway rides and crappy expensive "fair food". Interesting you were surprised by the vegetable judging. A big part of the fairs in Maine are the various submissions for judging and contests. They judge vegetables, livestock, cooking and canning, knitting and sewing, all kinds of crafts, etc. There are also contests like sheep herding, oxen and draft horse pulling, harness racing, etc. (truck and tractor pulling contests too) I just assumed that was the norm for agricultural fairs everywhere.

  4. Enjoyed this update, looks like you had a great day, funny how you don’t go big on the veg shows over there, like we do in the uk, I’m sure you will see more in the future, many thanks for sharing this, kind regards
