How to Grow IHG Basil Microgreens

How to Grow IHG Basil Microgreens

This is a complete grow using the 2nd generation kits. It’s wonderful how well Basil grows hydroponically. Sourced from True Leaf Market, the seed performed fantastic and I couldn’t have done it without the Bootstrap Farmer trays. They’re heavy duty and provide the platform that perfectly supports my no medium methods. There’s lots out there about microgreens not doing well hydroponically, but IHG is different and that’s why I can do it. #Microgreens #BasilMicrogreens #IHG

What do you think?

  1. Another great video! are you able to remove the microcgreens without cutting them? Can they be pulled from the screen with the entire root system intact?

  2. When I sprayed basil seeds on hydroponic screen, the seeds went to jelly like form, gelatinous, is this normal? I got from True Leaf? Happened right away, I did not soak seeds either. Tysm🌹

  3. How many days in germination phase? Did you use weight? Cover it for humidity but no weight? Is it the std water from top then from bottom once in light? I’ve got lots of questions!

  4. Thank you for the video. What do you use in your hydroponic solution since you are not using soil? Have you ever tried growing basil microgreens in soil? Thanks for your help!

  5. After scraping both sides of the screen with a old gift card….I've been clipping my screens to a cookie sheet….lean it up on a chair or outside deck….then blast it with the hose strongest setting. It gets 98% off…sometimes with leeks I unclip them then flip the screen then blast again. That gets it all clean.

  6. WOWOWOWO…LOVE BASILS…YES!!!…I can actually SMELL them…LOL. Beautiful grow. Still working on my grow room. Once I get a chance to try growing basils, I was thinking of blend them and freeze them in ice tray…then use them as needed. I like your method of dehydrated them too but don't have dehydration system right now. Thanks for sharing.

  7. Love how you do, "real time" on your videos. It helps a lot. Still learning and trying screen method.. We live in our RV fulltime and I'm trying to figure out home much total space to use for the entire process. I'm using 5×5 trays, smaller trays too. We are in Ohio with family during the quarantine. Thanks for all your hard work to help us out in these tough times!
