Great video thank you for sharing your knowledge! By any chance have you grown large onions and what is your recommendations on planting in hydroponics starting from seed?
Nice video. Is this a kratky method of hydroponics or are you using air pump?
That’s really smart way to setup a hydro system using those plastic siding posts I’ve never seen that done before. Also the foam in place of clay pellets is cool. Neat.
How do you prevent the leaves from growing too fast and snap? The parts i dont like when all the leaves grown fast and long and snap …would be good if it grows shorter and fat
Thanks, good tip about the bulb not touching the nutrients solution. The growing stage is the most critical. I have wasted a clump just because the nutrients is too high that It rotted because my juice bottle is black and did not see it is on the bulb. This is also the same as the celery. it has to be barely touching the base. Lesson learned, I had a few so losing one is not a big deal but f course it sad to see.
New to hydroponics and I do not want to use soil… Please can you tell me how to go from sprouting to leaves without using soil or Rockwell based medium? For example, can I place the small sprout in a net cup with rocks and then add the styrofoam to hold the root in place while it's under the light?
I keep sending my wife your videos. She loves to greens and such.
The green onion, love these in my garden. Cool way to grow them,,handy in so many dishes!
Keep on rocking it,,awesome content as always
All the best from Australia

mike are those still the 1 7/8 holes ?
Hello.. Thanks for sharing your videos..Does hydroponic system attracts mosquitoes and other insects? My 76year old dad would like to start hydroponic and I am assisting him so I am watching your videos to get tricks and tips.. Thank you.
Ok if the green onion doesn't have roots, I guess I start them in the soil blocks?
I live in the Phoenix area. I've understood that lettuce shouldn't be exposed to over 75 degrees or it will bolt, but I see you growing it in +90 degrees. I am not as interested in just picking leaves but growing full Romaine to maturity. In your experience, what do think the highs of the day could be before planting outside? Thanks for your videos.
Great idea, thanks for taking the time to do these videos 🙂
Buddy you show some amazing things! Those onions and lettuce are kicking chick'n I tell ya! Dang not the tree rat still messing with your strawberries. Where is a kitty when ya need one. LOL. Thanks for the update and showing us how you grow onions in simple hydro. Awesome job done my friend!
Thank you!!!!!!!
Great video. I finally found the containers you show for the microgreens. Starting those tomorrow. I am curious how the broccoli will turn out.
Green Onions/bunching onions will do really well in hydro.. I've also grown them in the Dutch Bucket set ups. The smaller 2 gallon bucket works best. I only need to fill the bucket with perlite half way. .. Either way.. they grow like crazy. I do find however after about the 3 or 4th cutting.. they do seem to get pretty pungent in flavor.
Love it. Just love it. I planted green onions in my raised bed along with everything else. Lol eveything else took over the grow area. They JUST couldn't make IT. 👍 THIS looks a lot easier 👏
I am growing some in a coffee can…think I may dig them out and replant them in a Kracky netcups now. Thanks !
