Baby blondes are a potential niche microgreens where the pea is grown for little time to obtain the smallest, most tender tip of the plant sprouting. It is the beginning grow of “blackout blondes” where the pea is grown in total darkness and extremely densely. Baby blondes are very tender and have no fibrous off-putting texture to them. They’d be awesome in anything and they taste great. I used “cream of the crop” to describe them and I think that’s certainly true for pea micros. This variety of micro is “Specked Pea”, grown in my IHG method, but most pea varieties can be used. Seed can certainly be sourced cheaper than I got them.

Hydroponic Gardening & More with Brent

Do you keep hydroponic solution in the bottom tray for the whole grow or do you only add it after a certain point?
Love the videos! Any chance you'll try growing Shiso (Perilla frutescens) micro-greens?
Love the video. Definitely gonna try these. Mine will be Laxtons. To those correcting Brents math and ratios… you get the idea. Dont be rude and then thank him for making the video.
I love your content. No reason to pay for medium when it can be done w/out. Having great grows duplicating your work. Happy Thanksgiving and Bon Voyage!
They look very tasty are they your favorite microgreen ? Good video Brent. Cheers. 🙂
200ml :1000ml = 1200ml total.. Love the videos.. keep it up.
nice growing method,
happy thanksgiving!
Isn't 200:800 1:4, rather than 1:5? It's 20% of a liter, just not a one to five ratio. Nice vid, thx for posting.
I have been playing around a bit too with trying to get more tender pea shoots. I tried lowering the top weight used. I think that may help too. Great Video. I REALLY love the taste of pea shoots so have been wanting to find a good compromise between tenderness and crop size — days to grow – days dark/light – weight used – strength of fertilized water.
