Just as the title says, I’m growing my seedless cucumbers in my grow room in an aertated water culture, aka DWC or deep water culture. I’ve got 3 plants only just so we’d have some cucumbers early on this year. Surprisingly, one of the 3 is looking ideal to carry on to the next generation! As a dehybridization of the Sweet Success cucumber, I’m at the 4th generation. What does that mean? Well, Sweet Success is a hybrid of two types of cucumbers. When you self it (pollinate it to itself), you get various genetic combinations of the two parents. Over the years, I’ve selected the best ideal cucumbers for me. At the 4th generation, it is no longer identical to Sweet Success and is becoming it’s own variety much the same as a child of two parents becomes their own person (simplified). I love this stuff. Perfect timing…my cucumber seedling is about ready to be planted hydroponically…so this will be my first time…not sure how to do this but will just put it in glass jar as Kratky method outside for now till I figure out how to have DWC run on solar. Do I use half strength of MB fertilizer since it's still a baby stage? Thanks.
