Growing easy hydroponic lettuce up a wall. This is an update to the lettuce we planted out a little over a week ago. I have not done anything to it, just set it and forget it. No watering yet. No weeding, no tilling. Tomatoes coming next week!! Yaaaaa!

Keep on Growin’ with Mike VanDuzee

My kale is doing awesome 🌱🌱👍👍
I tried starting romaine from seed using plugs and they sprouted ok but, then they got very leggy and collapsed after 2 weeks. When I opened one down the side I did not see any roots just a leggy stem. What did I do wrong?
Mike, I don’t suppose this would work well against a north facing wall, huh?
Hey Mike, great video! Just curious what the spacing is between each level? Thanks!
I live in Australia. I can't seem to find vinyl downpipe in the size that you can. The downpipe I can get here is 2 inches x 3 3/4 inches. Is this enough room for the roots to grow properly?
I have noticed that you say one word most of us don't. You say "Florida". How does outdoor hydroponics do where frost occur? How do your protect the roots from freezing? Do you need to protect them?
I love growing if only had a house outside I would do this all the time ❤️ but apartment can only do it indoor lettuce gets lame not crunchy like they do outside. last few times I use a punp this time gonna try the kratky method.. i do have 2 lemon tree (2 years old) 1 navel tree 3 grapefruit tree (7 months old) I didn't think it would grow but its growing the bad news is i'm from Michigan they won't survive in winter also don't know what to do when they get big lol
What other options do you have besides using pool noodles? My wife just worried about the chemicals they use in the pool noodles.
I just came across your channel and videos tonight while taking a break from work. When I got done with work I sat down for a good little binge session while winding down. I really like and appreciate your relaxed and REAL method of relating to people and the message you bring forward through the passion of growing food. I have always loved to garden, but got away from it for awhile and last fall I started to stock up and do some small scale hydro planting and growing of herbs and such this winter to keep me sane. lol It's amazing what it will do for those of us up north that love the warm weather but are only blessed with it about a 1/3 of a year. I have to say I am jealous of the Florida hardiness zone for trees and the year round growing.
I think I am going to have to travel to find any vinyl downspouts to make hydro beds, as we don't seem to have them around here in MT. Fantastic idea BTW! I also loved the pool noodle idea. I am not sure what I will do with this big ol' bag of hydroton I have here…maybe it will be used for some larger tomato or pepper plants to help anchor them in.
I look forward to working my way through your videos to get me caught up on all of the different methods used and the experiences you have learned on your journey. Keep up the great work!
I start mine from seeds and I have another excuse to spend more time outside. Love it.
very nice garden my friend.
Hey Mike, Good to see your videos again (for some reason you weren't showing up on my feed so I unrang and rang the bell a couple times to see if that fixed it and now see you). I'm in Oregon (Willamette Valley) and we're still having sub-freezing temps at night. I'm getting antsy to start growing again on the stair-step vertical stand I built last year. (Remember me telling you about that?) I want to start my own from seeds this year, but not sure when to start them in order to transfer them out when it stops getting that low at night. I'm planning on mostly lettuces to start (and maybe some choy 😉 ). Any suggestions?
How are the gutters staying on the 2×4's? What keeps the frame from falling over in the wind?
Nice to see tomatoes coming along. Being able to grow greens and juice them for nutrition is great, and it would be better to grow other foods that could sustain a complete meal plan for homeowners. Keep those ideas coming along Mike.
Mike always growing the best greens around!
Love your Videos Mike! Curious as to what part of Florida you are in?
I thought this was a gardening video not a music video
hi Mike I checked to see if you had any videos on growing strawberries with the Kratky method , do you have any suggestions?
Love you too💜
