I planted these radishes in January in containers, on the FAWN platorms inside my winter greenhouse. FAWN is my hydroponic method of growing in containers and these did extremely well. Very pristine plants and a super-easy harvest.

Hydroponic Gardening & More with Brent

It's best eaten in soup
Daikon is great shredded then pickled with vinegar ,sugar and carrots . Awesome side dish when eating fried food or bbq.
Look into vietnamese cuisine , they have the best yet simple pickle daikon recipe I tried. I just bought them at the store and will transplant them today so I can grow my first daikon.
Nice looking Radishes Brent. I usually grow these as a microgreen. Have you tried that? Wonderful in salads and in Japanese recipes.
They are quite spicy, yes?
Enjoy your vacation
Marty Ware (Australia)
Really good harvest. To me they are the best of all radish varieties.
Those Daikon radishes have turned out really good Brent.
Nice harvest there, Buddy!
I think I have seeds for the daikon radishes I hope to try them soon. Best wishes Bob.
Hi Brent,
How's your fish pond doing? It's been a while. Can you give us an update before or after your vaca? Cheers,
Bill
Those were nice! I've never grown them, but they are on my list of things to grow.
Brent, I just wanted to say thank you. Ever since you had your greenhouse giveaway, I've been thrilled with gardening. I now have a grow light setup and I'm going to clear out my raised bed. I've found something that I finally enjoy and it makes me so happy. I have everything from cantaloupe to cape gooseberry, to pomegranate. They are my "children", and I wouldn't have started gardening if it weren't for you. Thank you.
I found some interesting information about 'Daikon Radish Root' using the Specialty Produce iPhone app.

Looks great. I hope you have a great vacation. I also hope you have someone looking after the rest of your garden while you are gone.
Did you grow those in pure rice hulls or a mix of soil and hulls?
ps. now I'm craving some radishes lol
the best way to prepare them is to shred them and add to soups or saute. common in Japanese cooking, very healthy if you can handle the flavor. it can also be dried and stored.
how do you decide which veggies go into what containers?
