I was pleasantly surprised by the downtown Denver aquarium! Based on the mixed reviews i heard, i wasn’t expecting much. However, I was certainly impressed! Maybe it was because I love and keep some of the freshwater fish there, or because i got to play around with some rays… Ultimately, this was much larger and far more impressive than i thought it was going to be. I filmed this a few months ago while in Denver before my trip back home from Reefstock where i gave a presentation. I filmed much more footage than is shown in this video and there is at LEAST twice as many aquarium as shown… BUT a lot of these tanks are lit by the natural sunlight that pours in from the ceiling. I went at night time not knowing this, so unfortunately it was too difficult to film or see into most of the tanks. I did however figure i would share this experience with you guys anyways. The fish were MASSIVE monster sized animals! Especially that freshwater section. A very good reminder how big some of these guys get and how long they can live for! Perhaps its something to think about before you decide to make an impulse buy and get yourself in over your head with these.

The place is dope. I’ve been there my entire childhood.
It looks epic
Whenever I see these tanks that are blatantly crowded with aggressive fish and they're all just sitting around, I can't help but to think the fish are be sedated to an extent.
I grew up in this aquarium, so cool to see my role model here
if u want to see a nice aquarium you need to come to Knoxville Tennessee
I am going to denver today
Plot twist, Joey turns into a stoner.
Red belly p tank was awesome. I want one like that in my house lol
I don't really think they should be available at every other fish store (most of them) because of their size. Incredible exhibits.
I went to this aquarium over the summer and I personally thought some of the tanks were overcrowded and that some of the fish were in bad shape, of course that could have been the inner zookeeper in me coming out lol. My favorite part was the shark tank. Me and my mom spent about 20 minutes just watching them
Man why are you not into monster fish's I think its will grate to see u take a nice rtc or something mate
Can anyone help me out?? Which fish is at 1:22 and at 1:52
I went there like 2days ago I touched the sting ray
Please I hope the wolf eep is ok
The fisherman in me is fascinated by the mutton snapper and peacock bass. The aquarist in me just loved the shallow salt water mangrove layout. The piranhas are also nice.
Yeah Colorado!!
More of these kind of videos please ^^
As a Colorado native who's always had mixed feelings about our aquarium, I'm surprised you actually liked it and yes the sting rays are the best part.
Paul cuffaro was thare
where's this aquarium ?
that thing lying on its side is a wolf fish
Looks better during daylight hours..
Ahh, thanks!
what is that screaming noise? other than that, great vid, many thanks Joey!
I have the same shark it is near 6 feet
I think that large animal is a wolf eel!
Wolfele
Dood that's so cool that you have been there, I went to it too and I love the gurami and arowana
I love going to the freshwater section of the New England aquarium here in Boston and pointing out to friends and family which fish from the tanks I own!!! Love it
Get piranhas
I was at this Aquarian years ago probably when I was only 10 min my twenties now and I huge this aquarium was you got to swim with sharks if you really wanted to it was a nice aquarium first time I ever went. I even live in Colorado and I don't visit this aquarium very much right next door to the Six Flags
You missed the green eel(I don’t know what’s it’s called) at the end of the saltwater exhibit, I think.
Name him the new fish Freddy Freddy and frank
That fish in the dark tank wasent a sunfish…its a black crappie….love your channel
Bat rays are so freeking cool. I saw two big ones when I was scuba diving, such a privilege.
Those piranha were scary the way they weren't moving, just waiting for war on some unsuspecting prày. Super scary. I didn't know they could be so still. Even when Joey put his hand to the tank to size one it didn't move, scary.
Why do the piranha stay so still?
This is kind of sad to see these fish out of their natural habitat, just for our please 🙁
