  1. Next season you could take out the lining put foam behind it make an acrylic green house, run solar panels, and then if you breed more fish in it in the summer shrimp are sweet to have for fish food sources

  2. Do the hawks go after your koi up there. Hawks here in southern California just look at the fish. But go after little birds and doves.

  3. watch out for the water coming out of the pump to freeze, i speak from experience. my pond would not freeze but the water droplets that come off the water fall or my pump that aeriated would start to freeze

  4. Does your pond have an aerator for it? Most people don't know, but bubbles prevent water from freezing. If you see boats in freezing water conditions, you will see air bubbles on all sides, preventing ice from forming. Koi ponds with its limited water volume, would have one corner with an aerator to make bubbles to have at least one corner thawed for oxygen exchange.

  5. I think you may have mixed the origin of the goldfish with the koi. Goldfish were originally bred from China, while koi are from Japan. It is true that I believe that the common carp was imported from China to Japan as a food source. However the koi as we know it came from Japan.

  6. If this message reaches you,i wanna say hi, you are so kool my brother, watching you for all these years made a part of your life unknowingly. lots of love bro.
