  1. I recommend building your next deck out of pallets. its a lot cheaper to get and it can be a DIY project! We built a Cabana this year out of pallets and plywood 😀

  2. I know it's work in progress and you'll figure it out as you go along but it looks like a pool prison. Or a crib around a bathtub.
I get why the fence is needed but you could maybe put it at least 6-8 feet further out each side. It would be a lot less 'constricting'.
Keep chippin' away at it bro! Most of your later modifications end up looking better anyway…

  3. This looks amazing! You did such an awesome job Joey and all by yourself! Wow! Could you do a slight overhang/trim on the inside so that you don’t really see the pond liner? Then you don’t have to fix it 😂 love it!!

  4. Man there are some negative people in these comments lol. It's not meant to be a swimming pool it's basically just a big fish tank that people can get in to swim around with the fish. Honestly it looks great! If you ever extend the deck and open it up a bit more it will look even better!

  5. provide some shade and added interest. The beauty is you have plenty of fish water to use for fertilizer. Aquaponics Mate you already have the system in place.

  6. Oh joey i love that you did all this for the family and thee kio. They are one of my absolute favorite fish. So many different beautiful varieties of them. They are sweet, personable, and so friendly.

  7. 👍looking forward to see it evolve. I'm hoping you come up with some great DIY ideas for the winter months I'm in the UK and have been thinking about making a pond but the cost of keeping it from freezing skiers me

  8. Painted PVC Archways with plants (maybe even some type fruit vines for Canada's growing zone like grapes) would keep the Hawks and things from dive bombing the pond, provide some shade and added interest. The beauty is you have plenty of fish water to use for fertilizer. Aquaponics Mate you already have the system in place.

  9. I have been watching your channel, on an off for a few years.
I didn't realise that you were in NS. That's pretty cool.
    I am in Southern NB.
It is cool to find fellow Canadians on YouTube.

I know you guys are a growing zone up compared to us, but with our crazy winters, how do fish do in outside ponds?
    Is there a minimum depth?
It is average -15C here in winter and doesn't go above freezing for about 4 months, how do the fish survive?
