I hated African cichlids as well then when I made my most recent fish order and my buddy asked me to order a bicolor 500 peacock I took one look and my opinion changed now I’m cycling a tank for peacocks 😂

I love these fishes too…vibrant in color and behavior…I have 2 150 gallons of peacock…total 53 fishes…Joey, are you interested in Malawi Hap…try once them…they are a bit larger than the peacocks…average size 9-10 inches…try them once, I have these varieties…OB Electric Blue, Malawi Eye Biter, Chrysonotus Hap, Mbenji Blue, Green Face Lethrinops, Venustus, Dolphin Hap…try them once

I'm sticking to my pair of V.Synspilum (quetzal cichlid/firehead)
and i agree all African cichlid tanks do look the same.
Keep all of them, they need to be overstocked to keep aggression down
