they're illegal in the US.
I had an arowana in my younger days . He was 21 inches long. My room mates and I tried time and again to find something he could have as a tank mate. The only one he didn't eat was a tadpole. The ones he ate included an Oscar, a turtle and a scorpion. So good luck.
