I keep 3 male and 1 female red in my 140 litre tank..
When i put them thats silver.. one month and 2 of them get turn black red like cherry..
If you wanna make them turn red and good shape more fast.. feed them with fresh blood or tube worm every day..

Way roo many. By the time these get bigger the tank will be way too small. 1" of fish per gallon of water..

I have a small school in a 180 gallon heated outdoor pond. Not much colour at 2", but wait until they hit 4".

I think the red light is similar to light shining through blood in the water, making the fish want to school up for safety. Idk though🤷🏻♂️
