  1. As someone with a little flat where every possible space is needed, the idea of a hollow aquarium-stand kinda breaks my heart.
    Nice built tho.
I love the old videos just as much as I love the new ones.
Kinda like there’s a season 1 and a season 2 of The king of DIY.

  2. That's awesome! I hope one day I'll be able to build a setup similar to this.

Also, I never knew you lived in Canada, but I can definitely agree with the fact that it's been a brutal winter (at least here in Toronto it has)

  3. For the leds you could also get a piece of acrylic or plexi glass, cut to size, drill pilot holes, and bolt it to the fixture. Assuming the light would be in a canopy of course. They'd never fall down. Either way, love the videos you post, this is what the hobby is all about.

  4. Hey man I'm a huge fan of all your projects. I'm a young fish keeper and have already had 32 different tanks. I've started a fish group on Facebook to prove that younger people can know just as much as experts like you, I'd live to get one up on the others to have someone like you join my group. Let me know if you're interested

  5. Personally. I want to see those leds mounted on a glass surface. Giving it a ada look. The curve on the strip might make it a little challenging, hence why you are the perfect one for this project. Lol.
    Any thoughts?

  7. Hey new subscriber here and I must say the sand waterfall is amazing. Also I looked at your book and noticed it was only an e-book, do you plan on making it an actual physical book or will it always be an ebook?

  8. Hey Joey instead of a roof gutter style canopy why don't you apply the led strips to a flat white acrylic top and have the leds sit on another pc of clear acrylic? It'll control the evaporation sound and smell a bit and it'll look flush and contemporary

  9. You can also use silicon to secure the led lights for a cleaner look. I have done this and it works great. Plus with just taping them, evaporated water will eventually make the tape come free.

  10. Joey,  when you need really great double sided tape for projects like this, use "3M Automotive Double Sided Tape".  You can pick up a small roll of it very cheap and it is super strong.  This is what car makers apply body trim pieces with, so it works great in different temperatures and around water.
