with your system you designed here how would you go about scaling the system for a small profit system. How many fish vs the grow bed size ect taking into consideration the media bed , dwc and NFT . how do i work out how many fish ect

Ok, but what if root pieces from the grow beds makes its way to the sump tank? wouldn't that be a bad thing???

what if Kevin has a super large NFT system such that the collective drain back from that system is enough flow for the fish tank and solids lift.
Would 3 inch PVC be a suitable size for lettuce, Basel, cilantro etc?… or would a 4 inch PVC be better?
Ty for this video. I have aspirations of a huge NFT system, and this blueprint is a huge help. 2 questions though : what is the mechanism that's gets the flow from the bottom of the swirl filter to the bio filter, and have you seen the Ubergro system? There's a few short videos if you haven't. Their system has the NFT racks very close. Do you think there's enough sun exposure and airflow?
Hey I just found your channel. Awesome information! Im planing on building a similar system to this but have one question. If the biofilter is empty g to the sump tank and sump is feeding the grow beds and fish tank, wouldnt the nutrients from the bio-filter harm the fish? Or does the sump dilute it to a point to where the levels won't affect the fish? Thanks in advance! 😀

I have a 100 gal tank(half full) with fish pumping water thru a bucket as a spin filter and then flows to two small media beds with filter material on the inlets . One empties back into the fish tank the other empties into float bed then gravity flow to the tank. With this set up what would be the best use of a new IBC tank?
How do you determine what size your sump tank should be?
can you use your sump tank as a dwc?
