I've seen the same setup being sold here in Korea a few years ago but it was white and a completely finished product producing great results.
I believe in this system the fish tank aieration is insufficient. This is apparent, Brooklyn, I suspect, from the way those fishes come up to the water surface and open up their mouths for air.

Question: If you compare aquaponics to hydroponics, you need to add minerals and micronutrients to the hydroponic system otherwise the choice of crop wont taste anything right? But by growing in an aquaponic system the fish will distribute minerals and nutrients. But how can it distribute all the right minerals and nutrients? Even if the fish distribute a good amount of nutrients and minerals it cant distribute all nutrients and minerals needed for the plant to taste the same as or better as a earth grown crop?

Great video! Really like the small test set up Christian shows. That is a great way to bring aquaponics into apartment spaces. I have been learning how to grow food in containers indoors and that could be a game changer. What do I need to get a set up like that?
