We are here to push the movement of aquaponics in a forward direction. Our primary focus is help you in your adventure with aquaponics by providing you with the highest level of information. Aquaponics is still in its infancy and we predict that it will be the go to method of farming by many families and urban farmers. Our job is to ensure that they are taught correctly.

  1. What’s up Brooklyn ✊🏾 I’m learning a lot about aquaponics from your channel. Maybe I missed something but how will he plant or harvest from the middle of his operation?

  2. I don't understand why he can't grow lettuce.
Lettuce is grown in Yuma, Arizona (in the desert) and is one of the largest lettuce farming locations.
Is it the greenhouse that makes it unable to be grown with aquaponics?

  3. For the biofilter media I think he needs to cut them out of the mesh bags and move the aeration to the biofilter. The bubbles should keep the media moving like he said it needs to.

  4. Am your subscriber, i have a question. In aquaponic nft stystem how much time should water restence in plant.? Or should always rest water inside? Level of water in tank

  5. Setting up a new aquaponics based NFT system in my back yard. Confused on about the plumbing between the sump, fish tank and the plants. should I be using 2 pumps? or should I split the flow from a single pump. And how should I position each element?

  6. I’m so glad you insisted on video submissions. Now your channel shows us what people are doing with aquaponics all over the world.

And Sentado, quality English. I wish everyone I deal with would express what they have to say as clearly as you do.

  7. Brooklyn, is it just the camera angle or does the water for the bio filter on that system enter and leave at the top and therefore not pass through the media efficiently? Maybe some drain taps added to the barrels for flushing out any crud that collects in the bottom as it looks difficult to remove the lids so cleaning could be a problem! Just a thought. Magic Al.

  8. Since you are from tropics, it is far better and cheaper to use Cleaned coconut Coir Fiber as bio media. 35 kg/m3 of it will give you a 525 m2/m3 bio-film growing area and will cost you a small fraction of what you are paying for those balls. You feed the incoming water and air (to make it aerobic conversion to Nitrates) from the bottom of that container and take out the water from the top to next point. Since you already have the film in the bio-balls leave them at the bottom(at least for 10 days) to help bacteria establish in the coir media faster. Each m2 of the media is going to convert about 1 gram of Ammonia/day. Once you have about 120 to 130 fishes, as recommended by Mike in this video, you will have about 1 kg of feed /day at adult stage and 30 to 35 grams of Ammonia and will need 35 m2 bio-film area. For this you will need 40 cm x 40 cm x 40 cm minimum coir (2.4 kg) and may support up to 25 m2 of growing area. Mike, please kindly correct me, if I wrong. For your fish, I am going to assume 130 fish at .5 kgs each, at adult stage, would require about 20 grams of oxygen/Hr corresponding to a 1.2 LPM air flow. From your set up, I believe it may be more than adequate. but you want to use small pore sized diffusers and not large bubbles.

  9. Great channel a lot of information and I'm working on my system. I would love to get your book that you have for everyone to see on every video but really disappointed that you removed the ability to buy it from Amazon and there is no other way to get your book. Please stop teasing the book for months on end and not give any way to buy the book.

  10. Hi, I have the same system at home but on a much smaller scale, but I am facing an issue with the plants. The leaves are yellow and sometimes white on lettuces. I think it might be iron deficiency but I did not see many people mentionning that, are they using supplementations or is there another way of avoiding this problems?

  11. Those ball valves will not do minute adjustments. I am at that point as well. lever valves might be better but are much more expensive. is your pump adjustable? if so, try using that to adjust your flow rate.
just a thought. those "apple snails" can get big and can work their way over the lip of your overflow pipe and WILL plug up that drain
