We are here to push the movement of aquaponics in a forward direction. Our primary focus is help you in your adventure with aquaponics by providing you with the highest level of information. Aquaponics is still in its infancy and we predict that it will be the go to method of farming by many families and urban farmers. Our job is to ensure that they are taught correctly.

  1. Hi from western Australia. I am setting up my aquaponics system and this information dispels my concern with what could be lacking in plant nutrient, in fish food. Thank you for that. Could you please tell us the amount of calcium and potassium hydroxide to add to water. Ratios.Thank you

  2. Brother man you’re an extremely vital part of my first system and introduction into aquaponics. Please look into dual root zone aquaponics. Soon I’ll have some video footage Thanks for all you do bro!!! Hopefully someday our paths cross in front of one of our systems.

  3. I would like to think that the fish feeds being currently produced were targeted at Aquaculture farmers/ hobbyist. I think its time fish feed producer start producing feed for aquaponics growers and take keen interest the mineral requirements of both fish and plants when producing the feeds. That will take care of adding additional nutrients to supplement the plants needs.

  4. You also need to be careful adding manure from a warm blooded animal into your system. You run the risk of introducing bad stuff to your system like e-coli and salmonella

  5. I dont know much about compost teas, but i do intend to add aquaponics to my homestead to replace traditional farming. i am curious if, for sake of ease not for aquaponics specifically, i could use a bed for composting this bed can grow worms to be fed as fish feed as well id imagine. i understand thats not what you teach specifically but on a homestead you want to have a place for everything and im trying to rationalize what i can do with compost since i wont be using much ground soil

  6. Hello, great material here. Totally agree with your points, but starting a system has great benefit for kickstarting the bacteria in the media, is that not correct? There is loads of beneficial bacteria in the tea? Please comment.

  7. I have 18 goldfish and 2 yearling catfish in my 300 gal tank aquaponics. I keep around 250 gal of h2o in the tank but my complete system has 3 20 gal clay beds with 5 additional floatbeds. Do I have too much biological surface area (bsa) or do I need more fish? and how to know the ratio of fish to your bsa???

  8. I used to agree with your idea that it's getting into hydroponics with fish….but someone shared with me that the best benefit is not necessarily nutrients but bioflora boost, to maximize the bioflora which will increase the nitrification of course, etc

  9. Hey, I find your channel very helpful and educational. Are you aware of any alternatives to calcium hydroxide and potassium hydroxide that are considered fully organic and also would be worth the time of an aquaponics god like yourself?

  10. aquaponics was never a closed loop system
    1. supplying food to the fish
    2. calcium, potassium & iron
    3. magnesium
    1.?4 other trace minerals
    5. ….

face it it's hydroponics with a nitrate bonus and safer chemically/biologically
if fish can't live in the loop I wouldn't want it in our environment

  11. Hello thank you for your explanation. In your view, if we are to add potassium hydroxide and calcium hydroxide, will the Aquaponics system be considered as Organic?

  12. Thanks for the explanation. If I correctly understand, we should add potassium and calcium hydroxides to the system in order to raise the pH but also because they would be missing from the system. Where should we get those and in what form? Is there also any link where we can get all the details about proper system sizing and all parameters that should be catered for?
